Yes, things are back to normal. It really disrupted things here - schools closed, shops closed, raods closed, etc. All in all the protests were kept in check except for one night. Glad it is over.

I felt really bad for the small shop owners who had to loose out on so much business - especially at this time of year. I am just glad that there were few serious injuries.

When I have to drive anywhere on the Thanksgiving or Christmas I am very aware that the road is filled with drivers who are a) anxious as all hell about where they are going b) seerely depressed about who they are or arent' going to be with c) exhausted by all the preparation d) drugged or boozed to the gills to deal with the above.

C-section on February 3rd? That is very close to my favourite holiday. I guess you avoided the stigma of having a ground-hog's day baby and all of the inevitable jokes where people ask you if the baby saw its shadow when it was delivered. : ) Good luck with the delivery and all of that. Thanks for the optimism GW. I must admit that I am the most absent-minded person in the universe though. Last summer I was on the subway wearing flip-flop shoes. I got out of the subway and walked about 4 blocks before I noticed that I left the shoes on the subway and I was barefoot. Trust me--I would leave the kid in a cab or something and then end up being one of those moms that they show on the news with the bad mean-looking mug shot and messy hair.
