Helen, most of the meds that adjust serotonin levels make a person groggy at first, then it seems to wear off. If you are thinking it makes you too groggy, talk to your doc or a pharmacist to see how long that will last. Xanax is different because it works so very quickly against panic attacks -- the Prozac and other meds can take several weeks to really show improvement. VERY important to keep taking them unless they cause dangerous side effects, to give them a chance to work and to give your body a chance to get used to them.

Helen, I know that for some people it is not wise to take Xanax for very long periods -- again, talk to your doc. It may be that, once you are stable, you will get weaned to something you can take for longer term.

What I really want is it to really, really accept a word and KEEP it! That 400+ puzzle I worked on for hours and at the last minute it decided to erase a word it had accepted hours before! Finally found it at 1 min to 12. Did not make it. Pissed me royally!

I do log in evey day. Well, either me or my other half. We come in first thing to get the grid, and the stats. Those then get put down onto paper, mostly for me to peruse when I emerge and have cup of tea no 1 and 2. Once I've solved most of the grid on paper, we or I then go to chat log. When there are very few to go we might then go to list, usually BJ's (no slight to Lickety, we've just got used to going to B's list). That way, we can check what we are missing and then get most of the rest of the words on paper. Then comes asking for clues on the log. Failing that, if we still feel the need tp finish, one of the word finders.

It's the "return to enter" in the log that is causing the problem - if you left the cursor in the log box on the old site, it didn't matter if you typed a word in the wrong place and entered it

I agree aknitter! I think this is a much better way of looking at the puzzle... I used to flip around between stats and words all the time... now can just look at the one thing!!
I love the fireworks!! Just the perfect way to end it!
And having the chat lot off to the side is much better, but would like the icons to be bigger... it has become an important part of the community.

I've noticed one possible flaw in the beta. I have to manually switch back to the "add word" box -- at one point I started entering a word and was going to automatically hit 'enter' as usual, when at the last second I realized I had entered the word into the chat log. On the other hand, I had to manually switch at the old site, it was just easier to do since I was forced to scroll up and down.

One of the reasons the old site was so slow as because of the buddy icons. Shrinking them was a priority, unfortunately. I will be adding "full res" versions of icons to the profile page, however.

CAitlyn -- there should be a scrollbar at the bottom of the window you are working in. But it sounds like you have a smaller monitor than Dr_G allowed for -- if you can change the resolution to something like 1024 x 768 it would work better

I am not in beta -- I found that it was very distracting to have the automatic refresh that flashed. Also my computer kept saying that the program was using a lot of memorry, so I swiched back to the regular and it is there I am not seeing most of the icons.

Oh! Good news on Mom. She's out of the hospital! They have a hospital bed at home for her, which will help the comfort levels A LOT, and they figured out what was wrong. She has fluid in her spine. Unfortunately, they just have to wait for it to be absorbed, but there is pain management options. Starting with the hosptial bed. :-) She just got home this morning.
