The last big storm broke off a gorgeous cactus dahlia right at the ground -- 10 full blooms and 14 buds. I was able to rescue the flowers and they are still in bloom in a vase, buds are opening too!

I always shop for the meat sales, Lor. You can freeze many cookie doughs, rolled up in a long log, wrapped well in Saran, foil and the ol' zip-loc

Our market starts giving out free turkey coupons with every $35 order, so I usually have enough for two 12-pounders or, like last year when the whole family was here, a 26 pounder.

I also get some good garlic, sit and peel for quite a long period of time........and put them in a Mason jar with a good olive oil... great to dip out to use when needed, and the oil is very good.
