My first dog was CH. Quivera's Shadow DanceMaster, aka DIsco...purebred Min. Schnauzer...I had baked a batch of choc chip cookies for work one morning and set them on the dining table to take with me, went in for my shower, and when I came out dressed for work, no cookies...made sure the doors and windows were locked then went looking...thought I had a brain lapse when I spotted Disco laying on the floor coveringthe bag...he had chewed through (cuz he couldn't undo the zip top!) and had eaten every single speck of cookie to be had...I kenneled him up, thinking if he's going to be ill, he'd do it in a contained space, and if he's gonna die, it'll be easier to carry him away to the vet...(I'm terrible, yes?) when I returned home from work, it was as if he hadn't done anything....I had him for 5 yrs before I had to put him down...contracted Valley Fever...microspore that attckes the spinal and nervous system diables horses and dogs...no cures, just expensive meds..back then anyways...

My friend with brain cancer is struggling---is so debilitated from chemo that she must stop chemo and get rehab for 4-6 wks in the hospital. She is distraught and wants to be with her kids (8, 4, almost 1). It is heartwrenching.
