No. Got up in the night in a hurry, blacked out (got up too fast), fell across the bath and hit his head. When I went in the bath looked like a scene from Psycho, his hands were dripping with blood where he had a head wound. Also his head had gone back and has injured his neck.

talking of war memories - this was a strange thing that happened with my grandfather - he had a stroke and was in a nursing home for a few years before he died. But while he could hardly speak when awake, when he was half-sleep, he would speak much more fluently in German. shows how the war so so deeply affected him

Haz, not really. They thought initially he had actually broken something, but MRI scan shows not. They think just severe bruising and swelling around the spinal cord. He has now progressed to a soft collar and they are going to try to get him mobile this week.
