I had a neat experience yesterday. I use a homemade cleaner that I created to clean most areas of our home. There was a black stain of unknown origin on our living room carpet, and I used a few spritzes of the cleaner to take all of the stain out of the carpet. I followed the cleaner with an equal amount of clear water to remove the soap from the carpet, and you'd never know it was stained. It cost NOTHING, because I already had made the cleaner weeks ago.

Here's the recipe, from my book:

Â¼ cup borax
Â¼ cup baking soda
1 cup white vinegar
Dawn dish-washing liquid
hot water

Dissolve the borax and baking soda in hot water, add up to six tablespoons of Dawn
Carefully add the vinegar, working over the sink (the mixture will foam/bubble because of the reaction between the baking soda and vinegar.) Using a funnel, pour the mixture into a one-quart spray bottle and fill the bottle to the fill mark with water.
The mixture will clean many of the surfaces in the home, and does not scratch surfaces. It will take burned on gunk off the stove top (you may need to scrub), and it is good to use on sinks and toilets as well as in the bathtub. Omit the vinegar, and it can be used on ceramic tiles. The solution with vinegar will also remove stains from carpet. (Test in an inconspicuous area first to ensure that it will not remove color from the carpet.) Spray a small amount on stains, and blot with a clean white towel until the stain comes up. Then spray an equal amount of water on the area to remove any soap residue, and blot with another clean towel.

And then, in order to make your Friend Space and Comments modules private, you need to click the 'Customise Your Page' link, and set it per module in there, by mousing over the pencil icon - then it shows up to you, I believe. That part doesn't work for me, owing to some problems on my computer - I've messed it up. :P
