well, if anyone's awake on Mon 5th, I'll be presenting our options for de4ing with our fiscal crisis before the elected commissioners. I'll be representing the Exec Dir who's on vaca visiting his son...the son sufferred a an accident which revealed a brain tumour. it was excised and he is recovering...the son is a law student in the Georgetown area, and now on a brief respite from chemotherapy...his speech is returning, but has some lingering cognitive lapses, preventing him from enjoying his law studies as much as before...

I find militant anythings, tend to go overboard. A woman stopped me in a parking lot, asked me to sign a petition that we'd not drink milk, eat beef (other meats OK?), or wear leather. My gran looks like Posh Spice, if she was a teenager, she'd be diagnosed as anorexic, she almost refuses to eat. So, at her 6 month doctor appt the other day, mum raised the issue of her being underweight, and the dr asked if gran had excess skin around her waist. It was determined that she hadn't, and therefore the dr dismissed all worry about her being underweight!!

So, my experience w/ dogs is limited to having lived with people who have had already-trained well-behaved obedient dogs; I have successfully raised one very well-mannered, obedient (-ish) cat, and I've raised/trained (to the extent that the various animals could be trained) other small animals as pets (a couple of chinchillas, a couple of birds, and currently, 3 baby goats).... but, my point is, I've never raised & trained a dog....

Tucker's about 5 maybe? ... and it's his second hunting dog. The first hunting dog he had, Monty, well... Gregg still gets teary-eyed when he tells "best dog ever" stories about him; he was hit by a car when he was 3 or so. Gregg had just broken his back in a work accident and was having a series of surgeries and was living in his parents house, pretty-much unable to do anything but walk in the park and stay at home...

He peed on our floor once, and our old dog got after him and he's never done it since. We've put the old dog down (had to, and miss her terribley); but this dog is now well-behaved
