Husband was recalling an incident from years ago. He had taken a student out with him to visit a farm in the Glens (this was over the Christmas period). The farmer, a jovial chap, insisted they would come in for a drink, husband knew what it was (poteen) mixed with a chocolate liqueur and managed to pretend to take a sip. A call came through that they needed to go back to the surgery for a lambing. The student had a full glass of this stuff which he downed in one gulp. On the way back to the surgery he became progressively greener. The crowning moment came when the sheep proved to be producing dead, smelly lambs.....

Nef, tails over here in dogs are only allowed to be docked in certain breeds and at two days old. It's nothing to do with the tail being docked, it's probably more to do with anal gland issues that Hobbit has.

Scrabbs - we had one bunny that got pasturella through the trauma of leaving her mum and siblings and coming to us. She came through it but ended up walking around with her head upside down. The vet told me she'd never get over that. I gave her calm, peace, warmth and gentle massage and within 2 weeks her world was the right way up again.

lbd - When I went back to the doc today for more antibiotics for the double middle ear infection and to make an appointment to have my left ear syringed (I'm almost totally deaf in it due to a wax plug along with the infection), the doc told me it was due to wearing earplugs to drown out the snoring. That was just after I'd told him that the only plus point to being deaf was that I couldn't hear the snoring. Tee, hee! If there's a way to blame a man for all your ills it's great if it's another unwitting male that gives you the ammo.
