They are suppposed to be the Winter Olympics Owl, but it is an El Nino year so we are having an especially mild winter. Daffodils and crocuses are in bloom and the only snow is on the course. They had to truck snow in from one of our National Parks in the middle of the province to make sure there would be snow on the jumping hill.

When my Other Half had surgery 'down there' (not being de-sexed, btw, it was a hernia op.) everything ballooned, went black and bruised and looked very painful. He was flat out on the sofa for about 2 weeks afterwards. However, having said that, do you know that it take's a woman's body at least 12 months to recover from the trauma of pregnancy and childbirth? But do we complain??

jmc - a caesarean takes longer to recover from. I was lucky enought not to have that with either my first child (breech) nor my second (normal presentation). I would have been given a c section, if I'd allowed it for my first but I wouldn't.

Nobody likes the idea of dogs being interbred for fashion or dog showing purposes. But sometimes, mixed breeds DO work well and if someone chooses on of those breeds to suit their family's needs, that's fine. Want to cut a bunny's nails? First find a large bath towel and keep it handy, then catch your bunny. When bunny is caught, try to ignore the bleeding scratches it's flailing feet have made upon your arms - legs, too, if you were foolish enough to have worn shorts for this, your first encounter with a bunny that does not know you. Gently turn bunny onto its back on the bathtowel you have put onto your lap when you sat on the floor after having caught the bun in question. Time to calm down... both you and the rabbit. Wrap the bunny in the bath towel if it's a bunnyyou've only just met, only leaving it's head sticking out and making sure the hind (kicking) feet are firmly wrapped. Insert your fingers in the towel into the place where the bunny's chest begins and begin to stroke gently and croon, slowly opening the towel has you move down with the stroking to the bunny's abdomen. If you get it right, and you can do it in seconds without a towel with a bunny that already knows and trusts you, you'll have a limp bunny on your lap that will let you do anything you like. In fact, after you've done the nail-cutting, ear checking, bum-cleaning etc., you'll have to turf the bunny offf your lap to wake it up again. I only wish the same applied to guinea pigs. We have 4 of those but no rabbits now.
