Absolutely correct stid. If you think they will stop talking because you are now, you are mistaken. They just ignore you because you have ignored them. It is much more effective to call individual kids gently by name and when they look at you to see if they are in trouble, just say, "Thankyou. We need to begin now"

*plunges in* remember that grief is highly individual. three weeks isn't very long, and three months isn't that much longer. You will be processing this for a long time, and having sad days and moments when you struggle. BUT. It will get better, slowly, and in your own time you will feel okay again. Two things: don't let ANYONE tell you that it's "time" to stop grieving -- you will figure it out at the right moment. On the other hand, be careful to monitor your life, and if you find yourself isolating yourself from others, or struggling to do the routine things like paying bills and such, please seek help to work through how to keep going.
