i had once taken a half day from work so we could leave early to head to the beach (a 2-3 hour drive).
when i get home, my friend calls to say her roommates cat got out and they were looking for it. we ended up leaving for the beach AFTER the time we would have left if i hadnt bothered to take a half day.
i think its great that she wanted to help find the roommates cat, but not when we already had plans. and i ended up wasting leave because of it.

we were also supposed to do the same trip for my bday one year, but it ended up snowing. instead of saying up front "hey, if it snows, i cant go because i need to be here for XYZ reasons" she waited until it was basically too late for me to make any other plans, then said she couldnt go.
so i ended up spending my birthday at home by myself.

I have just figured out a way to make eggplants which suits me perfectly. Generally, I cook vegetables 'til they are dead, but I can bake eggplant with a lot of olice oil, cumin, garlic and salt and it is wonderful

i am on a diet where you get your meals delivered - husband is away and daughter and i are doing it together, it works out cheaper than shopping, cooking and doing dishes
