My father made a processed turkey loaf for T'Giving one year (my mother was too sick to get out of bed). It was shaped like a a football. I was appalled that we weren't going to cook a real turkey. He put that thing on the cutting board and put it in the middle of the table. I was at least glad that I wasn't the only one looking so crestfallen. It was awful. When we sliced it, it looked like a yin/yang symbol - half white/half dark. Tasted like salt.

Supermarkets making sense of any kind, would be a first. Once, we had the Co-Op ( a farmers' co-operative) and then we had ASDA (another farmers' co-operative) and both worked really well. Many thanks to the kind Polish lady, probably a Mumm my daughter told me,since she looked about my age and cuddly, who even though she didn't have a word of English, realised that my daughter hadn't got a clue what was being said, nor could read anything re train station in Warsaw. She took her to the right platform for her ticket, then came back to get her when the tannoy announcement said the train was arriving at a different platform.
