the volunteering has been absolutly fantastic, Aussie Pride. Couple of truck drivers in Tasmania have been collecting goods,clothes, toys AND pet food and will be catching the ferry across to Victoria to drive to Queensland....people have even donated for the deisel and food for the journey.

The usual horror insurance stories but the cleanup seems to be progressing well where it can be Annie. We are having flooding down here now - but in country towns so nowhere near as bad as Queensland where a lot of the areas were built up

Thank God I only put 8-day old remnants of sliced roast beef out for the foxes last night. Not as bad as sheep who are killed by maggot infestations and keel over and die, but, the two mice who died in my greenhouse - the first drowned in the watering can and I guess the other fell in trying to save it, stank the whol garden out for half a day after I got them out, and even after I buried them. I now put covers over the openings in the watering cans in my greenhouse.
