one day in january my father,his friend and i were on the lake ice fishing with one snowmobile as transport.we were about 3 miles out on the lake and i wanted to learn how to use the snowmobile..well my dad put me in the seat and showed me the basics(i was 9 at the time) and told me to do a slow circle around him and stop..well i cranked that throttle right to its stop and took off like a scared rabbit in a straight line to the horizon till i vanished from sight!! my dad has this moment on 8mm film lol.well just as they were getting ready for a 4 hour hike across the ice to get back to shore and call the cops to find me,i come roaring back with a big smile on my face!..about ten minutes later i fell through the ice with just one arm on top stopping me from going under.my dad and his friend rescued me by laying out on the ice and throwing me a rope.we wnet back to shore where i was dried off in front of the wood stove and fed piping hot beans and franks

Yeah Stid, it's past all that. I'm just glad boy-o and I are home where it's warm. I've got us all geared up, in case the power goes out. Wood in for the fireplace, hot water in the thermos for tea, and all the flashlights charging. Hopefully, the power stays on. That defeats me after a while. Last year, we were 30 hours with no power because of a snow storm.
