i tend to use brown shell eggs as they tend to be thicker shelled and those free range organic eggs are not good for boiling as the membrane tween the shell and the egg is almost non existant and makes for tough peeling

Here is how I boil eggs for dying or for deviled eggs. Put the eggs in the pan, gently. Then add the water. Cover and bring to a boil. Turn the heat off. Let the eggs stand in hot water for ten minutes. Gently pour off the hot water and fill the pan with cold water. Let the eggs sit in cold water for ten minutes. Then dry them and color, or peel them for deviled eggs.

When I was a teenager our dentist was a woman who put rubber band pieces between the teeth she wanted to drill several days later. No freezing in those days, no valium. The teeth involved were sore from the pressure of the rubber band to start with. Then the drill was old and slow and ground away noisily. Horror story. Thank goodness times have changed!

btw, I WAS bitten by my car, yes car, about a month ago, and needed a tetanus shot then too, lol! I was standing too close to the door when I'd got out and swung it to close it. It bit my leg. Had to get a passerby to put a bandage on so I didn't leave gore all over the car when I drove to the hospital ER to get sewn up. It's nicely healed now.
