had a very very long and frustrating conversation with mr bill, explaining what was going on with his dog and what his options were. after repeatedly explaining why giving the dog something to "flush him out" was not going to address the extremely enlarged liver, i got permission to do an exploratory surgery and take biopsies.

which i then promptly did. biopsy confirmed liver cancer, dog rapidly worsened and was euthanized by a different doctor at the clinic the next weekend.
