reminds me a little bit of the time I visited the Dead Sea - went out a little ways, was standing in waist-deep water when I lost my footing (that "salt" is quite slippery) - well, I couldn't stand up again - the water made me so buoyant that I couldn't get my feet to go down!!

Interesting, my boys belonged to a branch of the BSA here in Israel. It was connected to an Orthodox troop in Brooklyn. My kids were always so excited there was a boy scout lighting a fire wearing a Yarmulke (Jewish head covering) in the manuel.

Yep, very much like my town. on one stretch of the "Main Drag" there were 6 or 7 shuls, 4 Conservative and 2 or 3 Reform. On Rosh Ha Shanna & Yom Kippur there were double or triple shifts of police directing traffic. Totally ironic since you are not supposed to drive on those days. The only day there are NO cars in Israel is Yom Kippur; the most secular stay home.
