hello sprite: currants are edible fruit of the ribes family (black, red, white) usually cooked from raw. There are also dried currants used for baking which are dried small dark grapes (named from Corinth).

continuing on liqueurs: my parents used to make sloe gin (the sloe is the fruit of a thorny plum-type bush in the hedgerows, not picked until after the first frost. Each small fruit (about size of large grape) has to be pierced with a sharp pin before being put whole in the bottle with the gin. Goes beautiful pink colour after draining. Lovely.

peri..this is kinda a "kitchen curry" not a formal curry..this is kinda of the easts version of our "hash" ground beef, chopped potatoes and onion fried up with some curry powder..then in a pot you do basmati rice with vermicelli noodles in chicken broth ( a couple boulian cubes )...once rice is done and potatots are tender...you mix it together....and let sit fo about 20 mins... serve with yoghurt....
