I think camp is a great microcosm of life. I am glad I was able to give my kids that experience. Camp here is only 2 or 3 weeks but it's still a good experience. Now only my youngest is camper age.

my son is 14 now - he stopped going to camp when Sarah stopped. Oldest allowed is 15. He really didnt miss it - lots to do around where we live. He is very independent and rode his bike to the lake (about 6 miles from our house) almost every day

yes even as a worker - kids have to stay so the counselors have to stay. Camps here start the end of June and run through the middle of August. Every 2 weeks is a new session. Kids leave on Friday night and then new ones come in on Saturday morning.

Well then do your homework on the internet. Look up customer reviews of what you have in mind. As long as it's not on a lot of "lemon" lists, I'm sure it will be fine. And if you are going to be doing that long of a commute, get a membership to a reliable auto service just to be safe.
