here in NSW Australia we had a devasting fire in an elderly peeps nursing home, so far 7 dead and heaps more in ICU at various hospitals,,,apparently the fire was started by a male nurse...I am sooo angry at him for what he has down to those poor elderly folk and their families.....sorry had to vent.

jilli, the Post Polio Syndrome is just the pits. I went through my life as if nothing was wrong with me. And about 10 years ago I started losing strength and was tired way to often.....didn't pay a lot of attention to it until a doctor said I had this PPS. I rushed to puter and read up on it. It seems that in the first go-round the virus sort of "fried" parts of our brains.....and not to write a tome here, I'm still getting around.....hard to bring a good woman down.

She was pregnant when she contracted the disease in 1952 spent most of her pregnancy in an iron lung - they had to wean her a few minutes at a time so she could be taken out to deliver my husband - the family calls him the miracle baby. hard to take calling a 6'5" 230 lb man a miracle baby
