FM said that he has a gardener/handyman and that he was taking a great deal to do with helping out. He was getting meals delivered as well but I know that FM was quite concerned because he is so frail with Parkinsons.

I had always stayed in contact with her via e-mail/phone until she went into hospital. After that she didn't have access to a computer but we were able to ring each other and I and others could post things to her. Becky (Ata) was able to visit her a couple of times in hospital but since she was a plane flight away from me, she wouldn't hear tell of me coming across.

LOL, okay then! Actually, it was sort of sweet -- Primo, my eldest, came home from college recently, and I ADORE many things about him, but has always really prized the way he tells it to me straight. I sort of thought maybe I had gained a bunch of weight, but wasn't sure it was all that noticeable. My lovely sisters are always "you look great!" But Primo? Came through the door and set me right straight -- "Jesus Mum! Salad bar already!" Oh, how I laughed....LOVE that boy of mine!

he told me there was a bit of a flap in his visual arts class this week. A student in his class did a FANTASTIC piece that used coupons cut into a very complicated collage that got smaller and smaller and turned and twisted into a tiny line on a table, which a lady was snorting up her nose. A commentary on how shopping can be addictive, how it is fed to us,e tc. The professor REFUSED to accept it from the student, REFUSED -- even though she had prepared it for her final -- saying it was a drug reference and the professor would not allow it.

I then met a man, we were quite honest that it was theatre outings and other mutual interests only, and we'd go to the theatre together etc. He was a park ranger and so we'd often talk about his job, and he also led historical walks through our city centre. He was a nice man but, as we both knew, there was no 'spark' between us. Anyway, one evening, after attending an art exhibition opening a friend of his was giving we went back to his house and he invited me up to his (spare) bedroom in which was a computer. He sat me down and introduced me to a website called Friends Reunited. It looked very interesting but I didn't have full internet access at home at that point and so didn't check it out properly until a few months later.

I checked out the site eventually and was posting something on one of the message boards when a woman replied to me straight away. We got chatting and the chatting thing expanded far further than just us. One night, three of us just exploded into the 'members only' chat space and from there history was made. It's all in the book of the site.

The short form of the rest of this story is that I met a guy on there I seemed to get on really well with, then we chatted on MSN and then, actually, he DID turn upi on my doorstep unannounced and I took a chance after we kissed goodbye after that first meeting and we're still together 9 years later. Long may it continue.

Our first kiss was just brilliant, I'm sure I must have told this story before? He went out the front door and I hung over the doorframe to say 'goodnight'. Somehow, we got drawn together for a chaste goonight kiss. Neither of us expected the sparks that flew. We both went 'Phew!' and then he walked away halfway down the front drive while I watched him go. And then he came back to kis again to make sure he hadn't been mistaken. And that, as 'they' say was that!
