My son does motorcycle road racing - a young rider who was too inexperienced (in many opinions) to be in that particular event, seemed to "freeze" at the first (very fast) corner, left the track and crossed the infield and ploughed back into the pack at high speed, Many riders came down (Adam managed to clear them) and the young boy (17) was killed.

Always - but you have to learn to hide it or you can unsettle the rider and that is no good. At Phillip Island with the World Superbikes they combine some classes in the support races and this is how an inexperienced rider came to be in that race ( and others).
