Because of his balance problems and the fact he's a husky guy; I wanted a good chair for him. The quick fix involves cutting up an old yardstick and duct taping it in place. I'll probably do that til I decide about buying a new cylinder! :-)

a cane should come up to where you bend your wrist, Peri. It's made to help support your weight. A walking stick (which I use when needed) is a bit longer (I adjust mine to just below my elbow joint) and is used by swinging out in front of you and kind of forces better posture.
