hi, all. I posted this yesterday on Facebook: The vet called this morning. Duchess's tumor was malignant. The good news is, it has not spread to her lymph nodes or chest, and we believe it was all removed. For now, we are going to assume and believe she is cancer-free, and we will have her checked every three months. The vet said this was not anyone's fault, and that spending a lot of money on a veterinary oncologist/chemo would probably not
be much help. Cats do not tolerate chemo as well as dogs do, and we certainly do not want to put her through that if it will not help her. She is healing well, though, and seems to be pain-free. We have an excellent and very caring vet, who will be with us for the duration. We have had some tears, of course, but we are okay now, and we have renewed our commitment to love and care for Duchess and the other three girls for their lifetimes. The vet told us she has seldom seen people who dote on their pets as much as we do. We just call it love and being responsible.
