OK, bed for me. Hip still hurts like hell. I was to have MRIs of L ankle and R hip. Ankle went OK, but I panicked re: hip. It was an open MRI, but my face had to be under that big contraption, and stuff near my face sets off fierce claustrophobia.

thanks. It is what it is. I see orthopaedist on the 24th. We(primary doc and I) had hoped to get an MRI in advance, and I really wanted to be successful, but I just could not. During the ankle MRI, I kept stroking my forearm to calm myself; that would not be possible for the hip MRI. I also staved off boredom by making alphabetical listsâ€”cities, trees (couldn't think of one that starts with D, oh, Douglas Fir!).

my extremely beloved cat marty will be dying sometime in the next few months. right now we are giving him "hospice" care at home, he's responding well and eating again. when that changes, we'll be putting him to sleep.

yes. the weight loss turns out to have been associated with his kidneys starting to fail.

kidney issues are very common in cats but not one i expected him to fall prey to this early, as he's always been very fond of water. but one of his kidneys is very small and probably non-functional, so if he was born with it that way, perhaps that is WHY he was always so fond of water, he felt he needed more of it.

It hurts so bad. I had a little poodle-pom mix that lived to be almost 18 years.....I kept him alive two months longer than I should have - codine. He was with me through a very bad time in my life....OK, I'll shut up now.

yes, it's especially hard with marty because we formed a very strong pair bond immediately the first day he came to me at 6 weeks old. he's always been madly in love with me, demanding lots of love from me, which i have happily given.
