We went from bi- or trifocals with little lines at the joins which were a real pain, at least at first,and resulted in people doing a lot of tilting their heads to see through the right bit, to having a "smooth, gradual" transition - novisible line - which leaves you feeling dizzy every time you look down for a couple of weeks. But after that they really are better. I can't speak to improvements in hearing aids!
