See, I learnt touch typing in high school, but I cheat and look at the keyboard. After all, I have to get used to the spacing between keys, and unlike on a typewriter, if I hit two together here they both show up. But the touch of these keys is a light delight.

*unpoof -- Liz, I learnt Pitman shorthand in high school too, which I've totally forgotten. But I recently found out that my Aussie grandfather actually studied with Isaac Pitman and his interest in phonetics, which led eventually to his school in Berlin where he taught diplomats and others languages by immersion and phonetics before WW1. He also taught his 10 kids his methods. One of them became to technical advisor to the movie "Pygmalion" and supplied the phonetic exercises for it, including "The rain in Spain..."

Well, not only that, but after WW1 my grandfather went to the USA and Columbia University. HIs methods were used for correcting the accents of many movie stars. He was also asked to go to China and teach the medical students English that way, but he was too busy and sent my mother instead. That's where she met my dad, so I guess I owe my existence to Isaac Pitman!

Ide like to share a funny little story on my pug that happen last week--Annnapooh (the pug) was in our creak enjoying a swin and thought she was big enough to take on a male drake that was there gaurding over his setting mate. She went running towards him with her hair all up, a real show of courage! Wonderful news, Sue! I have a nurse friend down south who got C.diff caring for a pt. with it and then had to have his gall bladder removed on top of that. He was hospitalized for 56 days in all because of his gut and lost 30 lbs (which he said was the only good thing out of it all)
