I think with cancer, doctors want to put people into control groups and not necessarily give a person the best chemo. I consulted at Mass General, had the head medical oncologist design my protocol and then "shopped" it in Miami

Ruby, I caught the chat in the middle but I couldn't help noticing the reference to control groups. I've only known that done at teaching/research hospitals. Not coincidentally, hospitals named "General" (San Francisco G was where I worked), are usually teaching hospitals. Even then, though, unless you've volunteered to be part of a trial group, I can't imagine them putting you in one. Sorry if I got that wrong, just sticking my old nose in.

all my ex in laws are still in long island. we lived there for four years, and i've beem to lots of weddings there too. Highlight (or low light ) of last night was when my 97 year old ex father in law asked me who if I'd come to the party with anyone. I had been dancing with him (he's still a great dancer). He kind of goes in and out of knowing who people are.
