I am beyond thrilled. I drove past the piano dealers, on Eculid Av in the hard-times suburb, East Cleveland, sat down to play, shmoozed with the owner, and have something I've wanted my whole life. Nothing plays like a Steinway. No Baldwin for me, no Yamaha, no Kawai, no Knabe (tho Knabes are quite lovely)...you get the pic.

Well, it's been on my mind for a while, both parents are gone and I have a small inheritance. Really, when mom passed away there was to be a distribution but my dad put the kibosh on that. He once said he got sick when he had to part with money. Boy did I ever not get that gene. So, somewhere mom is smiling at me, and dad will when his urn stops rotating wildly.

oh, btw, we lashed out and bought a pair of ornamental owls, life-size. we have some very active possums here, and they like to fight on the verandah roof, right outside our bedroom window. and not just that, but they leave rown beans all over the cars and the driveway, and they have been stripping the buds off our decorative pear tree.
