it's not so clear cut as that, ruru. this is a well cared for dog, who was not any further away from the owner than she would have been had she been ON a leash - many people who use leashes on runs use the 20 foot retractables... From a legal standpoint, dog was in road, which creates a traffic hazard. But from a realistic standpoint, why was someone driving that fast on a dirt road with little traction and a TON of deer? was only bad luck for the dog that he hit the dog and not a wild animal 4 times her size that would have destroyed his car.

I live in an area where young kids speed around all the time.. dogs are off leash here and cats are loose.. all the time.. and animals are run over. I never, ever have my dog off leash.. and I don't use the flexies as you have no control.. but that's just me

we live on the shores of georgian bay and there is a road that runs along the shore and in january and february the wind howls in from the north off the water and makes these drifts across the road that are 15-25 feet high.freeze you to the bone that wind does but is great fun

well,to emulate you must have a close relative die and go through 8 months of probate/lawyer hell.it paid the outstanding bills,replaced the worn out car and allowed me to go back to school for a year but that is about it.back to poverty after this
