I just really want to know who these grown children think they are. We do EVERYTHING for them while they grow, stay by them through whatever, and they cannot do the same for us? I have issues with mine, too, granny, and finally instead of just being hurt all the time, I got angry...it's easier than sad. If you want the ex DIL, then she should be there. If your son can't understand and deal with that, well, he can just stay home! Where has he been all this time anyway? I loved my former mother-in-law and still miss her, especially at Christmas. She was a wonderful woman and my ex would never have denied me access to her.

Totally understand. I'm trying to round up one board for an eoy meeting to sign off on financials, but my paying job and two other nonprofit jobs are demanding attention. I'm using it all as a spiritual opportunity to remember I am only responsible for the effort, not the outcome. (breathe... breathe....) :)
