pug: yes!!! It was amazing. We went to the store the podologist adviced. Didn't see even one nice shoe. Only with bling or fur etc. Then a rather old man came to help us, he picked out a pair after looking at my feet and the new soles, and they fit perfectly. Most comfy ones I have ever owned.

rose, I do understand. I agree! But I know a little bit of the other side, and that stinks too. Every time I ask my daughter to do something for me, because I physically can't do it myself, she gives this irritated sigh. So I often do things myself which I pay for afterwards in severe pain, because it hurts worse to have her sigh at me like I am an impossible burden.

the problem is, none can come stay long enough--and none can afford it. The grandsons want it but they're still in college, and where will they get jobs? I'd rent, but it's not up to code--the old septic system--and it's hard to be a landlord a thousand miles away. I wrote most of my books at the lake. Had my daughter chosen to live--she was there every summer--I'd have figured it out for her. Now it's too lonesome (and dangerous) alone, even with friends. Plus VT taxes are awful, now, on 2nd homes.

Hi there, LeslieAnn. I think I told you that my family are from Pittsfield and Baylis. My step-mother passed away New Years Eve.....she was a great lady, lived to be 94. I was raised by foster parents so I didn't meet them until I was 44. I don't hear much from them anymore, however, my stepmother kept in touch for years. I'm not able to fly anymore, so I didn't go. They used to take Dad into Springfield to the hospital from time to time.
