When we were kids, we had 2 sets of clothes for the week: one set for school, and when we got home from school we put on the everyday clothes for the rest of the day. I hate any kind of shopping. If I go; I get in and out of the grocery store as fast as possible: I have a list, use coupons if they are cheaper, and will buy extras only if I know we need them and the price is better than usual. DH will always take 2-3 hours; but if the 2 of us go together; it's about 3- 3 1/2 hrs and the bill is humungous!

My husband had five brothers and a mother who didn't have time to run after him. As a result he now does all the housework except the ironing and we go shopping together at the weekend. We have never had mobile phones so we don't have that problem. We write notes and talk to each other. Not bad after 44 years together.

It turns out that the floods in Surrey were caused by the flood defences built to prevent the homes of millionaires from flooding. They did but the water had to go somewhere so it flowed down the valley and inundated those who aren't millionaires.

Talking of sand bags there are a group of rotters going around selling sand bags to the elderly and saying they will deliver them tomorrow but don't.

usually we start hearing about March what the projected flooding of the Red River Valley (of the north) and then they start sending out calls for "X" number of sandbags needed to protect both Fargo/Moorhead and Grand Forks/East Grand Forks.
