I once went to see her, unaware of this development, and ran out of the building crying my leg off. I hate what nature can do sometimes. She was an amazing woman in her time, too. She was decorated for her nurse work in the field during WWII. And then she ends up like that. Bloody cruel

It was around 15 years ago now and thankfully the good memories I have of her shine through stronger than the bad ones. My adoptive Mum went at 67 to a mental disorder, too. She had a urine infection that affected her brain. There were days she was fine, and others when she would just sit there staring at me as if to say "I recognise your face but don't know who you are". That was 9 years ago now and the bad memories of that STILL outweigh the good memories. That still hurts me to this day, wondering if there is anything I could have done to make her happier in her last days

My elder daughter is leaving home in 2 weeks. She has a degree in Science, and was offered a position in the Irish Police Force (An Garda Siochana). The following day, she was offered a job as a rep for a pharmaceutical company in the UK. The rep job comes with a brand new Audi, a company credit card, and a very respectable salary.
