I love the slowcooker for some soups... chuck roast cooked til it falls apart, but some foods just don't taste right. My new cooker (a Hamilton Beach) seems to be better than my old Rival, so maybe the cookers are getting better.

I was sitting out on my porch, right near the railing, and I was texting my daughter. I heard something in the stones next to me. I looked down and saw this goldish straggly hair on the back of what I thought was a mangy looking dog. I grabbed my little dog (because he is a terrier and starts fights with every dog) and when I looked down and it looked up at me, I realized it was....

A freakin' bear!! If you look at my Flicker photos you will see the chair I was sitting in. It was within two feet of me, between that little bush and the railing. The next picture is the bear running away in the field.

Yes, Jilly, it was afraid of me - a good thing. We are still waiting on the sale of the house. Some ranchers down the road want it, but it's pending the sale of some of their land, Molly. Hopefully, soon!
