I have always blamed knocked down feeders, and missing feeders, on raccoons, but maybe bears have been the perpetrators sometimes.

Thanks, Molly! I suppose Frank must have had it all along, but it's only been a problem for him quite recently (and we pretty much ignored it for a year or so since we were concentrating on the cancer)

we also know a number of people with Crohn's; it's certainly no picnic but somehow when the most likely other cause is cancer it doesn't sound so bad.

Anyway I am trying not to assume anything; it is whatever it is, and when we find out we will deal with it. (I already spent a month saying maybe it's "just" Crohn's the first time, when it turned out to be cancer)
