We were just talking about epilepsy yesterday as Annie's Bobby had a seizure at work. The problem with that malady is that, unless you're in the midst of any attack, nothing shows on the brain scan

Burt hit his face on the ground as well as his whole hand and arm. Epilepsy runs in my family: aunt, father, me, but I've only had one grand mal (maybe, because I don't remember it and I was alone at the time, just got blood allover the walls of the powder room) and had 7 petit mal.

My father only had one grand mal and was put on, I think, phenobarbital for the rest of his (long) life and continued to drive (!!)

I think not knowing is the hardest part. I would never forgive myself if I injured someone else as a result of my driving and blacking out at the wheel. My face was such a mess first time that strangers stopped me in the village to ask what had happened and that was after 4 weeks. I didn't leave the house when it was really bad!!!
