I have friends who cut out or down on socializing online during Lent; I haven't been able to do that. One thing I've tried to do for lent (& then carry it over for the rest of the year) is calm driving; not getting upset with other people's driving; praying for bad/dangerous drivers and those around them, etc.

Things that gravitate to it often become the nucleus for many of my future stories. For example right now I see and old ink-well i found that was made in the mid-1850's a candlestick holder with the build-up of many burnt candles cascading down its sides, a white crystal from god knows where, a wrist-watch is is forever stuck on 2:25 pm. ... I can strip on of the 500 coats of paint people used to love to slap on them in the 60's, add some ligh min-wax stain and clear-coat it with 3 or 4 coats of marine varnish:)
