*struggles in* {{hugs}} my dearest sprite. gosh, i feel ghastly.
4:23 am
sprite
*hold rose in a warm hug* My poor darling. Am so sorry you feel rotten. Call doc John first thing tomorrow, ok?
4:24 am
grannyrose
i am absolutely freezing. it is cold, but as you know i don't feel the cold.
4:25 am
grannyrose
btw, i think i have found a way around this stupid return to work thingy.
4:25 am
sprite
nope, this is cold that comes with feeling rotten. Not easily remedied.
4:26 am
sprite
oh good! Please tell me.
4:26 am
grannyrose
my doc, being truthful says i do have some capacity to work. i can sit and i can use my hands. but what if she also wrote a medical cerrtificate to say i am too unwell to work?
4:26 am
sprite
that sounds good to me. And exactly the truth.
4:27 am
sprite
if doc John would be willing to do the same, your case would be a lot stronger.
4:27 am
grannyrose
yeah, i think so too. both certificates tell the truth. workcover will have to accept the truth.
4:27 am
grannyrose
have already thought of that * grin *
4:28 am
sprite
hehehe great minds...
4:28 am
grannyrose
as i keep saying i am simply not well enough to work.
4:29 am
sprite
I remember I found that one of the toughest things in the whole process. The amount of 'whining' you have to do before they take you seriously. While your normal attitude is to downplay any weakness you find in yourself.
4:31 am
grannyrose
muscles still achy, i think i might take some paracetamol as well.
4:32 am
sprite
darling, if things are bad enough to make you very nauseated and cold, you should take anything that can help. Don't forget your magnesium.
4:35 am
grannyrose
don just felt my face. i am burning up.
4:36 am
sprite
ok, not to sound silly or anything... but could it be you have some virus going on there?
4:36 am
jaxx7
Rose, it sounds as if you need some serious hand holding today.
4:36 am
grannyrose
that's what i am wondering.
4:37 am
sprite
hi jaxx :) Yes, she does, doesn't she
4:37 am
grannyrose
aww jaxx. i have had one of spritey's hugs.
4:38 am
jaxx7
Sounds like a virus to me. Not a lot to be done but keep warm, rest and lots of fluids. As for me I have knobbly nodules!
4:39 am
grannyrose
on the thyroid, jaxx?
4:39 am
sprite
aw that is so very unpleasant.
4:39 am
jaxx7
Indeed. Some have cysts in them.
4:41 am
grannyrose
poor jaxx. i just have the nodules. no cysts as yet. what is your doc's plan?
4:42 am
jaxx7
Will see him on the 22nd. I will be able to tell you more then. meanwhile we keep holding hands.
4:43 am
sprite
*hugs jaxx* all that waiting, huh... awful.
4:43 am
grannyrose
np's jaxx. * takes firmer grip on jaxx's hand*
4:43 am
grannyrose
sprite, what is on your agenda for today?
4:44 am
jaxx7
Jaxx holds on to Rose's hand and wishes her better soon.
4:44 am
grannyrose
oh, gosh. don has brought his dinner in here. i am trying to n ot smell it.
4:44 am
sprite
a little less than I planned, probably. My body is protesting the gardening I did yesterday. So.. dusting... laundry... shopping... cooking dinner.
4:44 am
sprite
oh sweetheart, please tell him to eat somewhere else.
4:45 am
jaxx7
Much as you love them, men can be so dense sometimes.
4:45 am
sprite

4:46 am
grannyrose

4:47 am
grannyrose

sprite

4:56 am
sprite

4:56 am
grannyrose
does he sound like a cat whose tail has been stood on?
4:57 am
sprite
no, not at all, his voice is very very low. He sounds a bit like a happy drunk... but he is fully sober.
4:57 am
grannyrose
roflollllll, good for him.
4:58 am
sprite
yeah :) I am enjoying it.
I suggested we would organise a bbq for tomorrow and for him to invite some friends. He is really into it.
4:59 am
grannyrose
good for you sprite. i hope he doesn't invite the whole neighbourhood.
5:02 am
sprite
no, only 5 people. His girfriend and 4 guys. Two are bringing their guitar and bass. It is gonna be a great night.
5:02 am
sprite
which reminds me... must drop by the new neighbours and tell them, and ask them to give us a yell when it is too loud or too late.
5:02 am

We got a call from our vet yesterday. Our almost 13 year old cat, Duchess, who had surgery for mammary cancer just after her 10th birthday (with a prognosis of 22 months survival rate) had a biopsy last week. Results are in. It was malignant, but no indication of metastasis. We have chosen not to have her undergo a complete mastectomy, with the full and unqualified support of the vet.
We are just going to keep caring for her and checking her periodically as we have beeb doing. It just breaks my hearrt, but I do not believe she should be put through major surgery at this point. The vet said Duchess and her sisters are very lucky to live in our home, with people who love them so much and take such good care of them. We have virtually every medical record all of these cats have ever had. The vet said she has never seen anyone keep such meticulous records for pets.

Didn't mind Doris Day -- couldn't stand Rock too-smooth Hudson --- but those musicals were the low point in the history of musical theatre I think

Most musicals don't translate too well in high school adaptations. However, traditions must be observed.

4:57 pm
MollyL
Well you can get a bed (or a piece of floor) at Soodle's. And a dran good breakfast. But I think the Bed & Breakfast places in Ireland are expensively decorated.
4:58 pm
Soodle
Ah, Jaxx. One of my favourite cuts of beef!
4:58 pm
MollyL
Dran good?
4:59 pm
Soodle
Yup. Breakfast at Soodles is legendary.
4:59 pm
MollyL
Oh, but is it epic? (I'd take the legendary Soodle breakfast any day)
5:00 pm
Marc Freeman
penquis, was that a clue for se5/16? If so I didn't get it, sorry.
5:00 pm
fuzzybunny
That could be, it was 20 years ago and we did it American style....drove 1,800 km in six days, only got stopped for scenic vistas and piles of rocks that had been restored to their original looks. In the evenings we listened to great live music.
5:00 pm
MollyL
Like a font on the computer. Comis Sans...

Three friends of Son of Soodle stopped by for breakfast last Monday. 'Legendary ' was one comment. 'Epic' was another, and the most unsettling was 'orgasmic'. Heck! It was only bacon egg & sausage with a few beans & mushrooms...

MollyL

Marc Freeman
Thanks Molly finally got it
5:07 pm
Soodle
After breakfast, they all went out to try & fix a car. I peered out the window & saw 3 asses in the air, hunched over the hood of a car. I had to call for my smelling salts, I felt so faint.
5:08 pm
MollyL
They should have put their pants on before they went out to fix the car.
5:11 pm
Soodle
Nah! I confiscated their pants, Molls... This is a 'funny post' meant to be read in 'funny font'. I'm not a weirdo. Really!

I suffer from bursiis in both kness, and was on glucosamine for a bit. I found the benefits to be negligable. Perhaps i was too impatient. Some people tell me that it can be as long as two months bwfore any real changes are noticed.

crosshair
Doing lots of hiking instead. Perhaps i can lise some weight, add more muscle, and take some of the load off the knees. It is tough going sometimes though. My poor knees feel hot today:(
7:37 pm
Lizlin
Hiking sounds like serious stuff. We enjoy walking. Perhaps there's some enjoyable exercise less heavy on the knees?
7:39 pm
crosshair
By hiking, i mean lonf walks in the wood. I am nt bringing a huge back pack or anything, just wter and snacks.terrain is a bit up and down though
7:40 pm
Lizlin
OK - that sounds like fun - sort of stuff we do in our hinterland (rainforest area) though I do prefer walking on the beach, feet in the water.
7:42 pm
crosshair
We have to leve the beach for the tourist this time of year and hit the forests om the mountain to get away from rhe crowds and commercialism
7:42 pm
Lizlin
Our beaches are lovely all year - even in the height of summer, there's enough space that you can walk without seeing too many other people.
7:42 pm
crosshair
You can see a few pics on my web site of where we like to go
7:43 pm
Lizlin
But right now we're getting into winter and there are few people on the beach and it's really fantastic.
7:43 pm
Lizlin
I've done some of your woodland jigsaws :) Really beautiful.
7:43 pm
crosshair
Must be nice to have your beaches back:-)
7:44 pm
crosshair
I have not added a new puzzle since that picture we took of the deer and wild turkeys together
7:45 pm
Lizlin
Sure is. We get the "grey army" up here from Melbourne - but they're not rowdy.
7:45 pm
Lizlin
I also haven't added anything recently though I've probably got some nice pics from New Zealand. I'll have to look when I have a minute.
7:45 pm

hi Stid !
9:05 pm
Bugsaw
hi Gwen. You are good at being quiet
9:05 pm
stidmama
(((bugs))) yes, hope to see you soon. Right now the house is a total mess... the yard isn't much better. But it will improve, I just need to get through this particular trying time (another week and then the rest goes back to normal). I detest testing.
9:05 pm
stidmama
hey gwen and aeb and lurkers.
9:06 pm
Bugsaw
My house is always a mess. i don't care about clutter. I live with a hoarder remember.

9:07 pm
JBsAnno
{{{stidmama!}}} So sorry to hug and run, but gotta go, just got fireworks, and still miles to go before I sleep. Love flowing from Philly to westward! Goodnight, all you Babblers! *poof*
9:08 pm
Bugsaw
I always tell kids that tests are just like doing your assignments or your homework. If you have done all the work in the first place, a test won't have anything new
9:08 pm
stidmama
well... that's okay then. show up any time. we will shovel boxes of school supplies off the furniture so you can sit, and maybe we can organize. I am not a "hoarder" and have strong organizational skills... but all my run-time this year went to planning lessons and preparing materials rather than keeping things organized. The two hours daily of commuting ate into the available energy.
9:08 pm
stidmama
YAY JB!!!! see you soon!!!!
9:09 pm
Bugsaw
commuting takes more out of you that you realize. I hope you can sleep a lot this summer
9:10 pm
Book Doctor Gwen
two hours to commute? OMG
9:10 pm
stidmama
I hope so too -- thinking right now that teaching summer school might not be a good idea, if we even have summer school (legislature is in extra session to fix the school funding issues).
9:10 pm
stidmama
Well, about an hour each way, gwen -- but that is going to be the case almost anywhere I teach if the local school 12 minutes away doesn't hire me.
9:10 pm
Bugsaw
If you asked me, I would advise you to use the summer months to replenish your spirit. You will last longer in the long run
9:13 pm
stidmama
That is what I am (reluctantly) thinking, bugs -- going to really need that time to replenish my soul, get ready for next school year and just visit with friends.
9:14 pm
Bugsaw
Kids and parents need good teachers to stay year after year. If you burn yourself out too soon it would be so sad
9:15 pm
Bugsaw
Finito. I can try to offer lousy clues if you are wanting any
9:18 pm
Bugsaw
ok, bye then.
