We have trail guardians up here who walk parts of the Bruce Trail, early in the season. they look for blow-downs, washed out areas that need to be temporarily detoured around, other hazards, as well as hauling out the garbage tourists love to dump everywhere. This year i noticed that a thoughtful trail guardian made a dozen or so home-made hiking sticks and had them sitting at the head of the trail for anyone who wished to take one:) was nice to see;)
