I sometimes go to the chanting mass with my dad, who is catholic, because the music is soooooo lovely. Of course I don't take communion though, and people give me some VERY curious looks on their way by, as no one - no one - who isn't hard core goes to the chanting mass

not to start a big firestorm or anything, but here's a fun story, scrabbler...one of my coworkers is in grad school, and had a study group meeting last weekend. one of the women apologetically brought her kindergarten age child. really it was okay enough - apparently child was happily coloring, singing to self, not being a disruption at all. Until, child got hungry, walked up to mom, said "I'm getting hungry" and the mom said to the group "do you mind if I give feed him?" and everyone was completely okay with that, waiting for crackers or maybe some yogurt to appear. Nope. She whipped out something else.

I support breast feeding through 18-24 months--very good nutritionally and for the immune system. And cow milk is for calves, not humans.

I tear up watching a baby breast feed, because it is so natural, just like any mammal, and I am so proud of mothers that make the choice to breast feed, especially long term. So many mothers quit after a few weeks.

I was a stay at home Mom for my first two, so breast feeding was easy and convenient. I was working with my third and that was far more difficult. Pumping and storing milk is tricky business.
