Judi, I missed the beginning of the conversation about the gargling and mouthwash. Do you have a sore throat? If so, your best bet is a pain killer ingested by mouth. Or a topical anesthetic. I would think mouth wash would increase the pain plus aspirin applied topically is not very effective. Just a tip from a nurse.
