im not so sure, judi. we get so many terror threats, its not even worth keeping them quiet. and metro is under so much scritiny, if that came out, theyd be in even more crap than they are now.

i think, honestly, the system is such a mess, they probably realized there were a LOT of issues going on, and finally decided to do the right thing by shutting it down to take care of some things.
my only real criticism is that (unless there was a truly immediate risk looming) they could have given folks a little more notice to plan ahead.

ooh, now there's a topic! We have lost maybe half of the grove to "citrus greening".. and I can tell almost all of the trees are infected to some extent.. BUT.. I can't help but marvel at how many blossoms are appearing and how many limbs are still pliable. Amazing.. it is like the trees are trying their best to survive, so we keep doing whatever we can. I know it is a losing battle, and my husband asked me why I was working so hard clearing under trees that were obviously in bad shape. My answer: "so they can die in dignity".. no more argument from him. We had a small harvest this year, but hey, we had a harvest.. we shall see what the next growing season brings. Meanwhile, I enjoy the aroma of the many many blossoms..
