To my dear friend Avatar, the true reincarnation of a Hindu god.....
I checked yesterday's stats and the player rankings and could not locate you. This means that either my eyes are failing me, you don't play or you go by more than one name here.
Whatever the case, I find it interesting that you would offer your "J'accuse" like the word in the puzzle today, a fart in a windstorm.
If you are right, and I am cheating, would I listen to you? If I were cheating, why did I come in third? If I were cheating, why am I not #1 in the rankings?
If you will notice, I used the subjunctive mood denoting a condition contrary to fact. I do not believe you are reincarnate of any higher life form, nor do I believe that I cheat. You are, however, entitled to your opinion, and I, as a REAL lawyer, am sworn to uphold your right to express your opinions, wrong though they may be.
Have a great day!

To most people, this is only a game to play for fun, so why does it matter if someone cheats or not? It's not like there's a prize for being best in the rankings.

Hello again. Sorry if some think of me as rude! I would suggest that cheating itself is far more rude than merely identifying offenders.
Lawyer-1, if i am mistaken then i apologise. I was a frequent player a year ago but became disillusioned by the obvious cheating that went on. I believe that if someone manages to attain all of the possibilities for a board that they are augmenting their vocabulary in some manner.
Admittedly, you do not fall into that category and so i apologise. I do not believe it is always necessary to pussyfoot around the subject when a brief (but rude) comment may suffice. Name and shame.
Brainless was definitely cheating.
I am not in the rankings because i haven't played since September (look into the archives if you wish) precisely because of this aggravating desire of some to appear to be more able than they truly are. I don't know how it works now but players were known to be erased from the rankings for cheating, however there were less of us then. It probably makes no sense to operate that way now.
Have fun people. Babble for fun and keep it real. Adios.

Other than my two sisters, and a neighbor, how many of you would recognize me if we passed on the street? How does this game enhance my income or reputation as a great wordsmith...
Cheaating, if indeed it goes on, harms no-one - if someone needs to see her/his name at the top of a list, what does it matter to the rest of us... it's like cheating at solitaire - you're playing aagainst yourself.
One last thing - how do you know, or prove, that someone has cheated? I wouldn't (even) know how to get into a cheat log...so my awe-inspiring scores are entirely my own.

Technically for someone to cheat, the action they take has to be against the rulles of the game. There are no stipulations about using ANY dictionary or word finder, indeed by the rules listed even those who have written their own word finding programs aren't really cheating just using a more expedient method of finding the most words. Ethics would have us reason that a word finder is cheating, but then the only real benefit this game has is the expansion of the vocabulary. I for one enjoy finding the words I don't know.
Let us lay to rest this topic of cheating once and for all, stand in awe of those who find all the words if for no other reason than the amount of time it takes to enter the words. And Lawyer dosen't cheat I will testify!
3:10 pm
lawyer-1
To runningforhome, bulldog and the others who have expressed their opinions concerning cheating, rules, my integrity, etc., I thank you for your comments.
I have been giving some more thought on this subject. First of all, I refuse to apologize for my scores. I will admit that I use a number of words which have not come to me through my knowledge of the English language. I have randomly typed reasonably looking letter combos for words. I remember strange words that were used by others in previous puzzles that fit. I have used online dictionaries on infrequent occasions. I have even found words by accidentally misspelling other words. These, in no way measure my intelligence, but, frankly Scarlet, I don't give a damn.
I have noticed others cheating, and that is on their conscience, not mine. If it makes you feel that good to "beat" me, ask and I will provide you with all the words I have for that puzzle.
There are a number of people on here whom I admire for their perserverence, whether they score 500 or 5,000. Some of them I respect and use for targets. I love shooting to catch and pass bulldog, for instance. And, if I do catch him, it doesn't make me a smarter person nor a better person. I thank him for our little competition. Quite frankly, had the challenge to my integrity come from him, I would take it more seriously.
OK, I've rambled on long enough now. I think I will stay away from here for some time to let those who find fault with me cool their heels a bit.

Lawyer -- don't leave us.
Until I came to this game, I considered I had a good vocabulary - I read a lot, do crosswords, etc. Well, I soon found out otherwise, but that really doesn't matter - I like puzzles (jigsaws, mystery books) and I enjoy looking for words, following the clues others give (smirking, a little, 'cos I found that' nine' before anyone posted a clue!!).... and when I get a word I don't know, I click-on the definition, and remember the word days later, and look for it on the grid.
Okay, enough rambling (or am I just babbling?), my feeling is you should stay around... and continue to give me clues, so that everyone thinks I too am a genius for my astounding word-list.

The 8/45 is the enzyme mentioned way earlier by ryan.
If you are familiar with the very common ending for enzymes, this one has the same ending. It also starts with a.
With 45 points it can only contain one letter for 2 points, the rest are one point.
So, now who wants to trade that for a clue to the 8/60? ;)

bulldog
Due to this discovery I now vow not to use the new name of efferyja. I will now only use Bulldog as is only right. It is cheap of me to only play the ones that I score high upon. I was very upset with the rankings though. I scored very high(top 15) for almost a month and remained in the mid 200's. I am sure that the puzzle only counts the previous month, and that the total score has more bearing than the order you place.

crystalline enzymes.... I don't know what that means... crystalline makes me think of sugar... but no S in place; then I remember what happened when the hamster was sick (and it crystallized) but can't quite spell URINE.
I've spent too much time here, today and yesterday, but I agree with Tolinya - I enjoy the chat.
Seventeen new books from the library, so this week it's only an hour per day, babbling my brains out (I know, that's gramatically incorrect, but you know what I mean)

Oh, no time to play tonight but wanted to pop in and look and what do I find? -- high drama on the chat log! I could have entered a few words I found but it was so much more entertaining to read the log.
Lawyer -- don't leave just b/c someone who claims to not even play is cranky! I've learned lots of new 'A' words from your lists -- and they show up on future grids so I get more points ;-D
Bulldog -- glad you figured out the ranking thing and I see you are now rightly ahead of me -- I have never gotten more points than you except when you haven't played at all! ;)
And on the whole cheating thing . . . I've used the wordfinder posted here a few times when I've been really stuck and *still* been unable to find words (you don't need to comment on what that says about my wordsmith skills) . . . how much does it really matter??? ;-P
Can't wait to tune in tomorrow . . .
Have FUN all! ;-D

it is an action word that means feeding a large animal,it is not a common word. it starts in the upper left and had a six letter root word. these are not new clues, all can be found earlier in the log. here is a new one the six letter root word is often used in a phrase that means you are getting killed. Someone might say that you are cannon F-----.
