Hursh, I think some people get off on faking people out. I suspect there was a whole lot of "back chat" in email circles (among "Frank", "Nancy Boy" and others) about how badly they had fooled the Babble chat people. I think certain people here are embarrassed about that.

This is a (mostly) nice group of people who have fallen for some bad tricks played on them. Some about fake posters, some about fake financial needs. It happens in chat forums where most people are perhaps "too trusting".

on another topic... the teacher i work with gives the kids points, in groups, for following directions well and stuff. if they get five points, they can get a prize on friday. well, one group had seven points today and a kid asked if they get to keep the two extra for next week. she said no, and that the extras are just good in case they do something awful and lose one, now they still have five and can get a prize. and i thought, if these kids were smart, they would realize you just gave them a free pass to act like jerks for the next hour.
