When I was having my first, my husband and I both worked at a pizza place. There was this red sign to remind the delivery drivers to not carry too much money. This car has so much new stuff, especially when the car I had was 20 years old, that I bring the manual in with me when I get home. I haven't figured out much except headlights, wipers and the "smart" cruise control - it actually will slow down and let you use the cruise control if the driver in front of you is erratic with speed, and I do love that.

the Corolla has an auto gear change thingy. at red lights it goes into a very slow idle, and picks up very quickly when you touch the accelerator. on hills, up and down, it auto adjusts, accelerating in the most economical way for up, auto dropping down through the gears to slow the car on a down-hill.

I was so amazed at the test drives, then they started showing us all the other stuff...geez, louise. I'll never learn or use it all, but it has heavy duty rubber mats for wet feet and dog feet in the back end, and will be easy to hose off the 'mats' since they are hard rubber.

We live in the California Sierra foothills, and I drive up and down hills from 500 feet to 4000 feet elevation often, and it has special handling in case of snow (which scares me!) so I won't be so frightened to drive in bad weather. Plus it is so easy to drive at night - my old Honda was horrid, I couldn't see. But I drove the new one home 55 miles, even freeway driving, no problem. So I feel a lot safer too

Really! Cuz the day I got it I had to drive in the dark, and we almost left it at the dealer to come back the next day, but I had hubby to follow, so I said I could do it. The mirrors auto dim, so I don't get blinded from behind, and it's up higher than a Civic. I got stuck with the time change and driving in the dark again, this new car is like having new eyes almost! My Honda was just too old I guess, cuz I actually don't panic if it gets dark before I get home - I never thought I would ever have another new car in my life...now I won't need one! This will last forever, if I don't crash it!

i had a kinda lousy experience at the dealer today, but i'm still enthusiastic about getting a new, or maybe just new to me, car. my current car is a 2005 minivan that won't pass smog, so i'm driving a 1998 ford escort. let's just say, i don't feel very safe in it, or feel like my kids are very safe.

And Good Evening Everyone; my dh just got out of the hospital last night (Again; 2nd time in 6 weeks!); so I consider myself lucky too. He's having problems with urine infections; which are probably due to the worsening problems of his MS; but when his temperature shoots up; his nerves don't talk to each other & fevers become medical emergencies.
