Aww, he's adorable looking! We had to put down our 16 year old shih-zpoo a year ago January; he became very senile & would bark all night & was incontinent

Yes; but with our dog; he was also becoming a danger to my hubby who would trip on him (my DH has MS). One of them would have been badly hurt if DH fell on the dog.

Yes...it is, but sadly he was ill. He was not eating, was vomiting nothing but clear liquid...he would try to drink but it would come back up. He lost so much weight in a matter of a week. When we took him to the vet, they explained that it can hit at any age. I kept questioning whether it was our fault...did we do something inadvertently or not do something we should have. Our vet advised that we shouldn't feel that way. She said that even if we had him x-rayed and treated for his kidney's, it might only offer him another year. We decided to be compassionate and not have him suffer. It broke our hearts, as he was our first fur baby.

I really miss having a dog in the family; but with my husband getting sick all the time; the cat is enough for now. (She stays away from him; I think she's afraid he will trip on her too!)
