are you asking for breed suggestions? or a referral to a specific rescue? In general I recommend young adult dogs and in particular I'd look for one that has a history of good behavior with cats.

pugs tend to have good personalities but a lot of health issues - ear canal narrowing predisposes them to ear infections, skin folds to skin infections, flat face to respiratory problems and dental issues.... so be prepared for a higher maintenance dog.
