we have had a very tragic time here. a young greek man lost the plot, drove his car into our capital city, and then drove through crowds of people, killing 4, and injuring many.

no rose, he cut out small triangles out of the eyelids and sutured them, forcing the eyelids to turn out just enough to make the eyelashes point outwards instead of in.

Poor Terra has to wear the "cone of shame." When my dog had to wear one, I had to buy a cloth one because he was so rambunctious that he shredded the plastic one in two days! He was about 7 months old...got neutered and had a hernia repaired.

strangely...don has eyelashes which grow and brush his corneas. once i pull them out, he is much more comfortable.

Our cats and dog are our babies now since our kids are all grown and have kids of their own.

the vet also cleaned out the tear ducts as well as was possible. If all goes well, they will be undamaged and terra won't have teary eyes anymore. But even if they aren't functioning anymore, he won't have hairs in his eyes anymore and that is what counts.

Oh my, I had a smaller spaniel back in the 90s. I love spaniels! I adopted a senior Springer when I moved here, and then got my pup after he passed. I don't know exactly which spaniel I had before, she was sold as a cocker, but wasn't. I'm guessing she was the prince charles type - all red. They are such sweeties, big or little!

They do! Individuals each - but true with most breeds I think. I had been looking for another Springer to adopt for months and months when a breeder friend had a litter sired by a dog someone I had met at a training class owned - and this person I didn't know let me know about the litter! So I got the pick of the pets from the litter - his sister was a champion before she was a year old! My guy is WAY too big to conform, he's a solid 65+ pounds! Hubby calls him the 'elephant spaniel.'
