We are plagued with seagulls where I live. Nearly ever roof has a bird nesting there. A baby chick fell from our roof and is now walking about on the flat roof of our extension. Can't do anything about rescuing it as the adult birds dive bomb you if you try to go anywhere near. I just hope they keep feeding

Seagulls are apparently a protected species but they are a real pain inland

lol me neither. It means they can walk the moment they get out of their eggs, and they don't stay in the nest until they can fly. At some point they leave the nest and the parents will feed them on the ground until they can fly.

it was priceless here. Our dog Terra was very much interested in the baby magpie. The parents went crazy and divebombed him, but the baby was just as curious. They became friends and later on would sit close together in the garden when the bird came visiting.
